Dear friend, don't let this bad influence you. Follow only what is good. Remember that those who do good prove that they are God's children, and those who do evil prove that they do not know God. (3 JOHN 11)
Fishing is a great way to spend time with the family. Wether it is a camping trip for the weekend at your favorite stream to catch some trout or fishing at a local pond for bass, bulegill or catfish. It is a great place to talk and spend some quality time with the family and even get a big smile when a fish is on the other end of the line.
It's funny how fishing works, one week you go out and whack 'em!! Go to the same exact spots the next week and its like someone flipped a switch and flat turned them off. Thats what our club experienced this weekend. After having the most fish ever caught in the history of our club last weekend, it was tough to even get a bite for most guys this weekend. At the end of the day, I caught two fish, but one happened to be the big fish of the tournament at 3.2lbs beating out the scond biggest fish by just one ounce. The winner, had a nice sack and finised with over 11lbs. I finished in 4th with my measly catch! Alot of rain moved into the area overnight last night which cooled the water temperature down and turned the fish off. Fish that were shallow last week, pulled out to deeper water and went lock jaw. I expect that with stable weather, they'll move back shallow and continue with the spawning process that is about to take place during the next couple of weeks. Overall it was great to be on the water and turned into a beautiful day. The fishing only promises to get better with weather warming and the full moon coming. Our next tournament is scheduled for April 22, I'll be sure to provide the results after the tournament.
I posted pictures of the two fish that I caught in the photo gallery.
Remember, our kids and the next generation can't go fishing if we don't take them.
